Hi Kathie, anytime we've done this type of installation we take 1'x4" cedar to cover the seams (you probably could use thinner stock and pine), and basically make evenly spaced frames, and if needed we place strips where needed to make it all look right. The 1"x4" cedar isn't all that expensive and takes paint real well.
