A licensed electrician by trade, but since my father was, I have picked up enough working with him on residential and industrial projects that I am comfortable doing home wiring, etc.
My point is, that if you have to ask the very basic questions about breaker sizing, etc, it would be best to hire someone to at least guide you firsthand through the project. One has to ask How Much Is A Life Worth? What seems to be "grossly over priced" now would be a real bargan if you had a fire and you or your family were put in harms way.
