In a month or so I will be taking on a project I have never attempted, laying ceramic tile in my entry foyer.
First, I need to remove the hardwood floor . Then, this is where I'm not to sure what to do. I believe that I have to lay a wire mesh (or something like that.) After that I have to spread mortar over that. Following that I know how to lay the tile.
My questions are: 1) Am I correct with the wire mesh? If so, what type? 2) How thick should the mortar base be? 3) How thick shoud the thin-set be?
