might give you a bit of a reality check. There is one yard in town that has a huge barn filled with only Western Red Cedar. Please not that this is not aromatic cedar, which smells even worse, but a visit to this barn will give you a small idea of what living with your ceiling will be like. The smell will be overwhelming for a while. The WRC will start to lose the smell after a couple of years but every time you disturb the surface, the odor comes back.
If you really are sold on the idea, you might try moving into a cedar closet for a week or so to confirm how strong you really are. Save the WRC for exterior applications where the weather resistance outweighs the odor. And I like the odor in limited amounts and for limited amounds of time. But I would sure NOT want this on my ceiling or have to live with the odor all the time.
