Electric furnaces are usually very simple, like a fan blowing over a toaster. Often, in milder climates (I'm from Minnesota), you won't notice a decrease in heat output until all the "toaster" elements burn out (there could be 4-6 of them). That's my guess as to your problem. Turn off power and check for continuity across each element's terminals, after disconnecting the wires. If the circuit is open, that element is burned out.
