Staircase in my home

In reply to formula to build a staircase by Attilio Pellegrini on January 27th, 2003 03:50 PM [Go to top of thread]

As you enter my house through the front door you see the underside of the stair. In my opinion, the stair is the 'wrong way round'! I think that it would be more attractive if on entering through the front door you looked to the stairs going to the upper floor? I therefore would like to remove the stair and fit another, possibly with a step at the bottom which also has possibly another two twisting round to allow the stair to go to the upper floor and face the front door. I have a door which goes immediately into my lounge to the right of the front door and it is on the same wall as the staircase. It would mean that on the wall there would be the foor to the lounge, then the staircase.

If you understand this, any advice would be useful.

Thanks
