We went through the same process but first we had the stuff tested and found that it did not contain asbestos. You should see if there is a plywood base under the linoleum. If so there may me lots of nail hole to deal with in your hardwood floors.
We had very nice wide pine but too many nail wholes and had to replace with Oak. The linoleum was a bear to remove. Im not sure of any easy way.
