We have old brick flooring in our ranchstyle house livingroom is uneven in every direction. A marble installer convinced us (I guess we wanted to believe) that the two inch brick could be sanded down to become level. They sanded down the front porch to level, but it was much harder than the contractor had figured and it didn't come out the way we had hoped. Both sides agreed to stop with the porch. It also made an enormous mess of red dust. We still haven't figured out how we're going to fix our living room floor, but don't fall into the same trap we did.
