4428 hunter thermostat

The thermostat we bought in 6/1/02, worked fine until we changed the batteries. After doing that we could not get a digital display to appear. I did the unhooking of the batteries for 1 hr, and hit the reset,,,,no change. I called the tech support center and the asked a few ?. The with no questioned asked acept when we bought the unit,which was out of warrenty,,., they sent us a new unit, in 6 days. It's my opion that their is a problem with the earlier models.
