Susan.......you should not have done that. No regular decorative primer will stick to ceramic in a shower.

I would recommend that you remove the primer.

Have a bathroom renovator come and give you a price to refinish the tile. Any reputable contractor that does tub refinishing should be able to give you a price on the tiles.

Keep in mind that while this is better than doing it yourself (they usually use two component urethanes) - it still isn't as good as tile.

You also might want to get a price on having the tiles removed and replaced too.
