any one of the flooring options you mentioned are perfectly fine. And no, you do not need to put down a wood subfloor for any of them. The ceramic goes well if you don't mind the cold floor. Carpet is always a popular choice too. Laminate is fine, but make sure you place a vapor barrier down. (contractors plastic with the seams taped)
