Painting Counter tops

This is what I was told.
1. Clean counter tops completely. Paint will not stick to dirt and grease.
2. Paint with Kiltz.
3. Paint a layer of base paint(water base), let dry.
4. Now you can get creative. Take a second or even thrid color and swirl, speckle it or leave plain.
5. The coat with Polyurethane(water base). Takes three- five coats. Let dry between each coat and sand with lightly between coats.

Will hold up 10-15 years. Can not cut on it or put hot pots on it but looks great.
