I'm not sure if three years is too long, but if the house was mis-represented to you, check into it. Call the agent that sold you the house, contact your lawyer that helped with the closing (he/she probably won't even charge you for this advice) and see what alternatives you may have from a legal side. If nothing, THEN do the things mentioned in the other responses - very good.
