In reply to sealer for hardwood floors by R. Brady on December 13th, 2002 01:42 PM [Go to top of thread]

I have recently almost finished a new house in Ottawa, Canada. The flooring system that I have installed is Jacoba. The sub trade who recommended it insisted that it was a better quality product.

the difficutly that I am having is that I am experiencing alot of noise when I walk on the floor. It is not so much squeeking but rather the floor sounds like it is cracking.

When installing Jacoba are there are special installation techniques that are required compared to the installation of the more traditional hardwood floors(Oak, Birch, etc...)

Also I have been told that you should never stain Jacoba. the natrual colour of the floor is orange. I have stained the floor but still the orange colour is showing through.

I would appricate any help that you could provide.

Robert
