Pellet Stove Installation

Posted by Jeff on October 28th, 2003 11:28 AM

Hello,

I am trying to install a pellet stove into an existing masonary fireplace.

I need to get 110 VAC into the firebox. Should I drill the hole in the brick or in the mortar between the bricks?

Also, what is a good way to seal off the damper area around the pellet pipe (e.g. insulation, sheet metal etc.)

Finally, am I foolish to use the "direct connection" method of venting(i.e. stick pellet pipe through damper, and not relining chimney)?

Thanks, Jeff
