I have three new garage doors and they are insulated with the plastic insulation like they put around crawl space foudation walls. I believe it is called polystyrene. I am getting ready to insulate two attic pulldown stairs and I am going to use this type of insulation. It is easy to cut and shape and you can glue it in place.
Maybe some of they experts can comment on my suggestion.
