Usually if you apply grout and it cracks upon curing, it is because the grout was mixed too thin and shrunk as it was drying. I have never seen grout flaking before. This is unusual since the sand in sanded tile grout is to prevent cracking in joints 1/8" and larger. Sometimes if you use too much water as you are wiping excess grout off the tiles when you are grouting it can cause problems with the grout drying uniformally (especially darker colors). What do you intend to do at this point?
