painting trim, molding, and doors

Dear Madeline,
I have a mobile home and ran into the same problem with the vinyl coated trim, etc. If you don't sand the molding first the paint will chip off very easily--the good part of this is when I painted my dining room and got paint on this molding I was able to wipe it off with a cloth and plain water. So---sand first!! Hope this helps!! I used a semi-gloss interior paint.
