Power In Equals Power Out......

Watts is a measure of power. It is equal to volts(V) times amps (A). If the converter is rated at 50 watts, then it depends on the voltage into it and out of it.
If the converter has 120 volts into it, then that side has 50watts/120volts=0.42amps. On the other side, assuming it has 12 volts out, then 50watts/12volts=4.2amps.
This of course, ignores the efficiency of the converter, and assumes 100% efficiency.
Just remember, powerin = power out.
