After discovering a leak under my shower pan, I am re-caulking all joints and seams--attempted it the first time w/ a silicone/acrylic caulk--that lasted 3 weeks before it started to separate (surface is Micaline--sheeted faux marble--I'm trying to remove (again) all traces of the previous caulking material--was advised to use rubbing alcohol or amonia to remove lasting traces--that hasn't worked--have you tried other solvents etc w/ success?
