Is your countertop edge at least 1-1/2" wide? If so, you can just put another kind of tile on it. White bullnose tiles around this area are about $.15 each and you can cut these down toward the bullnose edge, for instance. Other solid colors are more expensive but the concept is the same. You will want to back-butter the tiles for the edge when installing.
