Oil based primer (exterior)

Posted by Tony on November 5th, 2003 11:05 AM

I'm having my house painted outside, and the painter wants to use a latex primer instead of oil. He said it breathes better and won't peel like oil. I thought the oil made a better foundation and seal for a good top coat (latex). Is it OK to use a latex primer or is this a bad decision?
