We moved into our 1920s house and decided to stain some of the woodwork. We filled in all the cracks with wood filler and then stained it all. It looked very patchy when we had finished and so we cut our losses and painted it all! The trouble is that the stain is still coming through all the layers of paint( 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of undercoat and 4 satinwood top coats ) We have stripped back to the wood again. What can we use before we repaint to stop this happening?
