In reply to how to relight a pilot for gas furnace by Princy Sebastian on March 4th, 2003 04:20 PM [Go to top of thread]

You know I never had problems till they had to replace the front thingie on my furnace. Last thingie had an off,on and pilot. This new one has off,on, set and pilot. Since this new part I have not yet been able to light this thing on my own. I hate it. So I have been told to hold it on set to light, so why do they make things harder then need be. OK I tried this didn't work. Sure it lights when I have it on set and hold it for minutes but as soon as I go to move it from set to on... it goes out.. I hate calling someone in just to light my pilot.. can anyone help?
