Gas Fireplace

Posted by Bernie on November 6th, 2003 01:43 PM

Can someone tell me exactly how the gas fireplace ignites when the electricity is out? The pilot stays on, but even when the power is out, I flip the switch on the wall and I have a fire. Nice when we have those southern ice storms, but I'm puzzled as to how this works.
Thanks!
