Removing Walked On Bostik Best Glue From Bamboo Flooring

My brother-in-law installed some bamboo flooring in my living/dining room and was neglectful in wiping up glue spills. Is there any way the walked on glue can be removed from carbonized vertical bamboo? Will applying a light coat of varnish help?
