Driveway Expansion

Posted by K. Witt on November 7th, 2003 01:04 AM

We already have a concrete driveway and pad, but we need more room for my husband's 2 small fishing boats. We've already decided on a carport, but we're unsure about what to use for the "floor". Concrete is expensive and hot (we live in South Carolina), so we wanted to try something else. My husband and I seem to remember having heard of some kind of procedure where you laid gravel and then added something - maybe concrete, we can't remember - that hardened into a cement-like state that kept the gravel from moving. If anyone knows about this or other techniques, please let me know. We have a slope to our lot so we need something that won't wash away.

I hope that someone can offer some suggestions.

Thank you.
