We built are home 4 1/2 years ago and have had condesation problems ever winter. The windows have wood framing and are showing signs of mold. We run a dehumidifier ever winter trying to help the problem, it doesn't help the dehumidifier just freezes up. The basement is open to the upstairs and is partial finished, but shows no signs of condensations downstairs on the windows. Last winter we had a fresh air intake placed on the furnace. This draws fresh air from the outside into the furnace, and is only hooked up in the winter months. This so far is not helping, things only seem to be worse. The humidity level in are home runs 68. Can someone tell us what will help? Is the problem with the furnace, the open basement, the windows, or is our home wrapped to tight. Please help if you have any ideas.
