Electrostatic Air Cleaner ?

John, If you're refering to an this, then I can give my $.02. Assuming EAC, no I haven't had any problems w/our unit and it's about 10 years old. It's on a system for a 2600 sq. ft. home. As for cleaning OUR Honeywell, we put the 'filters' in the dish washer. We have to take out the top rack and do 2 cycles because for some reason, only one 'side' gets done well. To be sure, I'd call or e-mail Honeywell with the make/model and such to get a Users Manual. Don't trust what I say on this because you unit may not allow a dishwashing. As for knowing what it was like to live w/o it in the same house, I can't say. My best to ya and hope this helps. Jay J
