Stan, if you've got no receiving light and can't get one by re-aligning, you've probably got a bad sensor or a short in the line. If the sensoris bad, there are sites that sell replacement parts.

I've got a similar problem with the door except I've got sensor lights but the door still won't do anything more than a short chug in both directions. As a test, I moved the receiver right up against the transmitter but still no luck. I also opened the unit up and made sure the up/down boundary contacts weren't too close to the trip contact - they're fine.

The unit is ten years old and I was about to replace it when I came across a repair parts site and this forum. This is my last gasp at fixing the thing before I bite the bullet and get a new one!
