there's alot of air coming in around fire place, is there anything I can use to prevent this. my heater only comes on if I manual turn it on. I have to mess with the thermostat in order for the heater to come on. I have central air and heat. when it does come on I usual have it at 72 but it won't kick back on for a log time and by then it's been only 65 or so. is there a way for me to find out what's wrong or should I have it serviced? also, last question, I have a thin layer of insulation in my attic( the kind that just look like a bunch of stuffing from a stuffed animal. can I put a layer of the pink strip insulation on top of that? is it safe to do so. This is my first house and I don't know much about it. your help would be greatly appriciated since my husband is deployed and he usually handles this type of things. thank you.
