It could be any number of things.

If you have an automatic damper and it fails to open, the furnace will shut itself off in the manner described.

You could get the same symptom if your chimney is blocked.

You could also have a faulty flame 'roll out' switch which will shut the furnace off in the event the flame gets out of control.

You could have faulty 'spill switches', a bad thermocouple, or even a faulty pilot tube.

Have the unit and your flue/chimney checked by a professional.
