Victorian porch

You could do what they showed in one of the projects of that TV show on PBS that originates from your area. They went to Nantucket and looked at the Victorian porches in the Methodist Campground area there. Every house seemed to have a different gingerbread treatment and color scheme. When you have your design planned out, then get a truckload of wide pine boards and a good jig saw. For a Victorian house, you can make a BIG pile of sawdust. Look at the fascia boards and other treatments as well as colors where you can see a lot of authentic Victorian houses--real or in books.
