I have a Majestic gas log ventless fireplace. I too am experiencing a very strong, make you dizzy, odor. THis is our seventh year with this unit. WE have a CO detector that is not going off, and have had the CO level checked by a professional heating guy (that unfortunately was not trained on gas logs). No excessive CO. Everything looks great, the flame, piping, etc. This is not the dust burn off we experience every year, this is different. aT present the unit logs, rocks are stripped away for thorough cleaning. Still the smell persists. I am shopping for a qualified rep to come out, but for now am really venting to you, the audience. Any suggestions not in the thread above? Keep me informed on any progress, as I will to you.
