Use a heat gun - $29. Apply the heat from a distance of 3-8 inches, and when it starts to blister a little it will scoop right up with a putty knife. The Residue comes off with products like "Goo Off". Start the gun at 750 watts, get the hang of it and then turn it up to 1000 watts. 1 square foot takes about 1 minute.
