Hunter Fan Wiring Diagram

David,

I too have found myself in this delima, so let me know you what I have figured out on the fan.

Red and Gray represent one coil in the fan motor, and yellow / Pink represent another coil in the motor. The red wire is normally connected to a 4.5uF capacitor rated at 250V. If you connect the red wire to the cap and the other side of the cap and the grey wire across 120vac the motor will run. The same is true if you do the same thing using a cap and and the yellow and pink wire. Again the motor will run but at a different speed. Normally the switches in the fan control the addition of two additional 5uF capacitors to give you three speeds. Again all the caps must be wired in parallel to increase their total value and let the fan run faster. Hunter has no schematics nor could I find any in my many searches on the internet. I can get my motor to run fine, but want to wire the entire thing the way it should have come from the factory and this task is still not complete. Anyway hopefully you will find this useful.
