Susan, if you live on an island in the tropics, the best building may be one with corner poles and a thatched roof only. If you live in the far north, the best building may be one where you have a foot or more of insulation in the walls and a lot more in the attic. All the insulation might be great if you live in the desert also but not as much of an issue if you live in the rainy Pacific northwest of the USA. If you live in the Pacific northwest, earthquake resistant construction would be a major issue. In short, there is not one "best" for every situation. Your local requirements will have a lot of influence on this. More background from you would be helpful.
