My wife and I recently bought a house that was
built around 1979. The problem is when they built the house they used 4X4 lally columns to support the main girder which is (4) 2X12's. The 4x4
isnt supporting the outer 2x12's and is pushing up on only the two center one's. The basement floor which I believe was poured afterward's is hiding the footing. I was told I would need to cut a hole in the floor exposing the footer becouse the new column would just crack the
floor.
