I want to put hardibacker board over BC grade plywood underlayment/subfloor. The existing underlayment/subfloor is level. Is there a need to put a layer of thinset between the subfloor and the hardibacker board? My concern is if I ever want to take the tile up, if the hardiback is thinset into the underlayment/subfloor it will be near impossible to take up without also having to remove the underlayment/subfloor. Any thoughts?
