I noticed in my backyard yesterday that the area above my septic tank (where it would run into the leach field)was very muddy and smelled badly. It seems that my septic tank is overflowing. I just had the tank pumped approximately 6 months ago. It is a concrete tank. This morning the ground was dry and solid. I am hoping this could just be an isolated incident; but, I rarely get that lucky.
Any DIY recommendations for where I should start to assess this problem.
