stucco ceilings

We have a house that has stucco ceilings throught out. The roof has never leaked, nor has the ceiling ever been wet, but the stucco is cracking and falling. I have started to scrape one of the bedrooms. Some stucco peels right off, but some is harder to move. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
