Just an epilogue to say thanks to Brian and let you know that I popped a 50 amp breaker in the panel, got the right wire and parts, hooked it all up...AND DOCTOR SHOCK WAS MAKIN' HOUSE CALLS!
My welder ran beautifully. Everything stayed cool except the business end of the welder.
