Yes the concepts are the same. Earth home, Earth Berm home, ram earth home, etc.
The 2 major designs are flat topped - see www.daviscaves.com and arched or domed type construction
see http://www.execulink.com/~jhickson/nestegg/ I'm not endorsing either but those two websites will give you a better understanding of the two concrete built types of earth homes. The BIGGEST PROBLEM is water. You've got to make sure you have good an adequate water removal system. You may talk to the guys at AmeriDrain (I don't have their web site handy), for some ideas about increasing your drainage potential. Good luck!
