I have an old tub and am having problems removing the drain. There are no cross bars, just two little nubs on either side of the "flange?". I have tried pliers, I bought a tool that was to fit in the drain and turn with a wrench or trhe use of a screw driver through the hole in the neck of the tool. But looking at the bottom of the tool I think it is supposed to fit in the cross bars. I have tried pulling up the edge of the flange (bending it) and trying to turn it with pliers. I have drenched it with WD 40. The thing does not budge. What can I do- cut it out, burn it out ...HELP!! Ps. I also refinished with Klenks but put it on too thick and now have to sand and repaint.
