Some neighbors of mine, when we lived in Kentucky, had an outdoor pit made of cinderblocks and some tin for the top. It was in two sections, one section for the fire box and the other for the meat. It really worked well. It was about two or three cinder blocks high, about six long and three for the width. I was hoping that someone had some simple plans to follow as I would like to build one. They used corigated iron for the grill portion and used half blocks on each end and the middle for air flow and heat control.
