One needs the surface temperatures to consistently remain above 50 degrees F for several days for latex based paints to dry properly.

One cannot use latex caulk when temperatures dip below 40 or for at least 48 hours before a rainfall.

For this reason it is best to wait for better painting conditions or else you can be repainting next spring anyhow.
