Coleman Electric Furnace

In reply to Parts for old Furnace - Coleman by P. Kay on October 21st, 2002 11:20 AM [Go to top of thread]

I reecently purchased a 1971 Artline Mobile home that is heated by a Coleman Electric Furnace. I tried to replace the existing ancient thermostat with a new programmable one. There are only two wires to the existing thermostat that were not marked in any way. I tried to match the wires as closely as I could to the installation schematic but I could not get the furnace to run. I gave up and reinstalled the old thermostat so I could get the heat going until I could figure out the new hook up. When I turned the power back on, the furnace would not run at all. I know the wires are reconnected correctly and I have tried resetting both the main breaker and the separate breaker for the furnace with no luck. I looked for a reset switch in the funace panel but couldn't find one. There are two fuses in there, though. Could these fuses be the problem or is there something else I need to check for or do?
The model number for the furnace is 2E377.
Thank you...
