This is my first laminate install (Pergo Select Glueless Planks) so a few q's for the pros out there. 1)I just started ripping up the carpet and noticed that the concrete subfloor has cracks, some are hairline and some are 1/4 inch thick. I haven't finished ripping up the carpet and so far there's alot of glue and gunk to clean up. What should I use to fill the gaps? Will it be the same as the leveling compound? Any tips on getting the gunk and glue off easily? I didn't know that the moisture test takes 72 hours so I guess I'm not installing 400 Sq. Ft. this holiday wkend. This however is an absolute necessity right? 2)Before I head over to brave the tool dept at Home Depot, is a jigsaw really better than a circular saw for cutting the laminate? The compound miter isn't an option for me as it's too heavy and I don't want to rent cuz it will take me more than a wkend to install the wood. 3)I'm also installing in the kitchen (just 30 Sq Ft)and can only go maybe 1 inch under the stove (I'm afraid to move it and burn my condo down) so would applying sealant along the edge of wood be sufficient? How long should I wait before I put the fridge back on top of the laminate? Am I better off leaving the vinyl? Thanks in advance for your tips and your advice!!
