We purchased a post and beam home about a year and a half ago, during Hurricane Isabel it flooded. We were told by the realtor that the foundation was wood and also no previous flooding problems. We need to fix it and some companies will not even look at it because of the possible wood foundation, we're not sure because we haven't dug it up. My uncle doubts its truly wood. We have also been told it was built by an original owner who was Amish. We need our basement back as three of our bedrooms are there! We have 5 children. Any help or suggestions?
