I did a dried blood red room (1885 victorian- gets a border and frieze next) and yes it is more difficult with a deep color but you've already got 4 coats on that wall. I used Behr paint and it took 2 color coats (white primer) and spot touch up areas, so call it 3. I'm wondering if you are using the wrong roller? What type of pile and how long is it? I used a short dense one and I kept a lot of paint on the roller.
